Mechanism of NeoGraft:
The hand piece of NeoGraft, when applied first separates the grafts by sharp rotator punch from the surrounding tissue. The punch is connected to a suction apparatus, which sucks the graft, by its pneumatic pressure.
Note: As the follicle is still attached to the base, pneumatic pressure of suction, can tear the graft and uncover its protective tissue. This can results in drying and trauma.
The sharp and blunt usage of punches in two-step manual has the advantage of sparing the grafts from damage.

THE FOLLOWING IS THE EXPLANATION:
Artas Robot works by color detection sensors through digital cameras, with real-time 3-Dimensional software guided imaging though the arm of Artas Robot in selecting the follicles. The procedure is carried by disposable punches, cartridges, imaging mechanism along with its user interface.
Donor area between 6 to 12 cm is selected each time and positioned for ARTAS to punch out the follicles. At this period subject must remain.
NOTE: After punching is over, the surgeon removes each follicular graft manually with forceps. The patient is then repositioned for the next section to be harvested.
NOTE: The follicular implantation to the recipient area will be carried out using a traditional approach.
PROS AND CONS OF ARTAS ROBOT:
Extracting follicular grafts looks to be attractive by replicating the skill of an experienced Surgeon.
HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING IS WORTH CONSIDERING:
Limited donor area and hair characteristics. Only approved for Straight hair. Punch size used is large and Slower Extraction Rate. Higher Dissection / Tran-section Rate, Buried follicles are likely to be more, leading to cyst formation, Robot cannot select specific hair, which only a human can do.
NEOGRAFT TECHNIQUE: HAS ITS OWN DRAW BACKS, AS IT USES SUCTION AIR PRESSURE, WHICH CAUSES DRYNESS AND DAMAGE TO THE FOLLICULAR GRAFTS.
